What is Cupping?

Cupping is a Chinese medicine therapeutic technique which involves placing cups on the skin to create suction.

During a cupping treatment, cups are heated to create suction onto the skin, as cups cool down air is removed a vacuum effect is created, drawing the superficial muscle layers to be drawn upward into the cup. This suction effect can result in circular marks or bruises on the skin, however these are temporary and usually fade within a few days.

Cupping helps with a variety of conditions by improving blood circulation, reducing muscle tension and promotes relaxation. Helping to relieve pain especially on the back, neck and shoulders. Cupping can also help to address respiratory issues such as cough and asthma as well as to promote detoxification and reduce inflammation in the body.
